How Much Does a Smile Makeover Cost in Bountiful, UT?
Published by Millcreek Family Dental.
If you've been unhappy with your smile for a while, cost is probably the first question on your mind. The cost of a smile makeover in Bountiful, UT depends on what your smile needs, and that can be as simple as whitening with a few clear aligners or as involved as veneers and a rebuilt bite. Here's what shapes the price, how treatment can be spread out, and how we help you pay for it.
How much does a smile makeover cost in Bountiful, UT?
A smile makeover costs whatever your plan includes: which treatments you need, how many teeth are involved, and whether your bite needs work before any cosmetic treatment. Because each plan is built for one person, Dr. Anthony Baird goes over your cost at your consultation, before treatment begins.
In Dr. Baird's words, "the conversation about cost is part of the consultation". You'll see what your plan includes and what it costs up front.
The pieces that shape the price of our smile makeover treatment include:
- Teeth whitening, on its own or before other work
- Clear aligners, when alignment needs fixing first
- Porcelain veneers or dental bonding, and how many teeth they cover
- Bite correction in the back teeth, when worn teeth need rebuilding to support the front
Dr. Baird calls a smile makeover "shorthand for designing" a smile that fits your face, your bite and your life. Two people can both ask for a makeover and leave with very different plans, and very different costs.
Do I need a full smile makeover, or would whitening and straightening be enough?
You may need less than you think. Dr. Baird describes the patient who comes in sure they need a big makeover, when "maybe they just need to whiten their teeth and straighten them up a little bit". He calls whitening with a few clear aligners "a very conservative, easy option" for teeth that have yellowed or drifted slightly out of line.
Worn or broken-down teeth call for more. When teeth have been ground down over the years, Dr. Baird rebuilds what's been lost, and that plan can include veneers on the front teeth and building up the back teeth to support them.
The order of treatment matters too. Depending on your smile, we might start with whitening so your veneers are matched to the brighter shade, or start with clear aligners if alignment needs fixing before any cosmetic work goes on top. According to the American Dental Association, whitening won't change the color of veneers, crowns or fillings, and it's important to talk with your dentist before you whiten.
Porcelain veneers are custom-made coverings for your teeth. Some tooth enamel is removed to place them, so the ADA notes the treatment can't be reversed. That's one more reason a plan that starts with simpler steps can make sense for you.
Can I do a smile makeover in stages?
Yes. As Dr. Baird puts it, "A smile makeover doesn't have to happen all at once." Treatment can be staged so it fits your schedule and your budget.
Dr. Baird had a patient who wanted the work but couldn't do everything at once. We placed veneers on her front teeth first and put transitional (temporary) restorations on her back teeth until she was ready for the permanent work there. Dr. Baird sequences each plan around what makes sense for the patient.
If budget is your main concern, tell us at your consultation. We'll work out a way to break your treatment into steps that fit it.
How do I pay for a smile makeover?
We offer financing through Sunbit and CareCredit, which lets you pay over time. For patients without dental insurance, we also have an in-office membership plan. You'll find more details on our finances and insurance page.
Your smile makeover consultation is complimentary. It's a conversation: we look at what you'd like to change, walk through your options and what they cost, and you decide whether to move forward.
Why do Bountiful patients choose Dr. Baird at Millcreek Family Dental for smile makeovers?
At Millcreek Family Dental, you see your new smile before anything is permanent. Dr. Baird starts with a wax model of what your teeth could look like. Then we make temporaries based on that model, and you wear them, live with them, take photos and tell us what you'd like adjusted. As Dr. Baird says, "When the permanent veneers go in, you've already approved them."
Dr. Baird schedules the final veneers only after you've lived with the design: "I want patients to have worn the temporaries first."
He has rebuilt the bite of a patient whose teeth had been ground down for years, then placed her veneers. Afterward, Dr. Baird said, "It was the first time in years she felt like herself when she smiled."
Your makeover happens under one roof, too. Same-day crowns, dental implants and full smile makeovers all happen right in our office, and blankets, headphones and TVs on the ceiling come standard during your visit.
If you've been thinking about your smile for a while, start with a conversation. Call our Bountiful dental office at 801-292-4009 or request your complimentary consultation online.
